Sydney Goes Vivid

Sydney is going Vivid with the opening of this year’s Vivid Sydney Festival on May 27. Vivid Sydney continues until June 13.

Vivid Sydney is a festival of light, music and ideas that includes large-scale light installations and projections through to music performances, ideas, creative summits.

Outdoors, visitors and Sydneysiders alike should enjoy the festive colors and and images projected on the walls of Sydney’s iconic buildings, from Sydney Opera House to other Sydney city structures.

There are as well a variety of indoor festival events.

Vivid Sydney events take place at various venues which include Macquarie St, Sydney Opera House, Museum of Contemporary Art, and The Rocks.

The Whales Are Coming, the Whales Are Coming

As the weather cools towards the southern winter, the Antarctic whales begin to stir for their journey north in the whale migration season.
Soon there will be whale sightings all along the New Zealand and Australian coasts as these giants of the seas begin their journey to warmer climes.
All along the Australian east coast, there are vantage points for whale watching as well as whale watch cruises from popular coastal cities, towns and resorts.
